Coconut Chutney
Coconut Chutney is the side dish to the most popular South Indian snacks like Idli, Medu Vada, Dosa among others.
Ingredients
4-5 tbsp of readymade coriander chutney (deep, laxmi or any brand available in desi stores)4-5 tbsp coconut packaged powder or canned coconut milk
1tsp ginger garlic paste (you can use the bottled variety)
salt to taste (the coriander chutney contains salt)
2 tsp oil for tempering
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 pinch hing
2 red chillies
2-3 curry leaves
10-15 urad dal seeds
Directions
Heat the oil in a small sauce pan.Add the urad dal seeds, immideatly after it begins to change color add mustard seeds.
When the mustard seeds begin to pop add the curryleaves and hing.
Add the coriander chutney, coconut powder or coconut milk, ginger garlic paste and salt as per your need.
Heat for a minute.
Serve with idlis, dosas, vadas or any dish that goes well with coconut chutney.
