Rice Kheer


Rice Kheer

Rice Kheer is a staple sweet prepared for most Indian festivals and celebrations.

Ingredients

2 liter Milk
3/4 cup Basmati Rice
1 cup Sugar
1 tsp Cardamom powder
Almonds (Badam)
Saffaron (Kesar)

Directions

Soak rice for 1-2 hrs. Take a big deep vessel and boil the milk.
Clean the soaked rice and add it to the milk when you see the first boil.
Stir it. Then on a medium gas, keep stirring the milk at regular intervals and let it boil.
When you feel the rice is boiled nicely, add the sugar and cardamom powder.
Let it boil till the milk is almost half the quantity.
Garnish it with sliced Almonds and Saffaron (optional).
